We had two of he Venetian Blinds for skylights installed a few weeks ago. Compared to the older model operation of the blinds we are disappointed. The old operation you could crank the blind up and down. You could partially open the blind, close it or open it all the way. It was positive connected with the hook and everything was controlled by the crank. With the new style, you have to fit the hook they designed into the loop and push open or push and pull closed. If you want the blinds open or closed you have to try to locate the side slide piece and then push or pull it. From the distance you have to operate the control is not easy to do. Wish they would have continued the old style blinds. They were easier to operate. For older people the new operation is more difficult.
Merchant Response We are sorry to hear you have experienced issues operating your new Venetian blinds.
Ideally, these blinds are designed for in-reach application. For out-of-reach instances, we recommend a Solar-Powered blind instead. Our Solar-Powered blinds are remote operated and will remove any need for a control rod.
We appreciate your feedback and will ensure this is passed along to our design team. Thank you for choosing VELUX!
VELUX roof blinds are compatible with roof windows such as the VELUX GGL windows, other loft windows and skylights and offer light and energy control, as well and insect and heat protection. VELUX roof blinds come in different colours and operations
A combination of the classic VELUX blackout blind and the semi-opaque VELUX pleated blind. Block out as much of the light as you want with the blackout blind then use the semi-opaque pleated blind to diffuse the rest of the light that enters the room. The duo blind runs in slim aluminium side channels for a neat finish to your VELUX roof window.
The pleated blinds are one of the most popular sun and privacy protection blinds for all types of windows. VELUX offers first-class pleated blinds for skylights in various sizes. With a VELUX pleated blind, your roof window will be equipped with perfect privacy and sun protection.
We only use the best materials during manufacturing in order to guarantee an optimal blackout effect. This makes the three-layered Oeko-Tex® fabric especially dirt-repellent. The fabric is made out of a polyester layer and a lightproof intermediate layer. The back is formed from a special coating made of aluminium. This high quality coating protects any room from light coming in from outside and also improves insulation. With a VELUX blackout blind, you can not only darken your living rooms with ease, but you can also avoid losing heat through the window in the winter and thereby improve the energy balance of your house.
