How to choose the right steel reinforcements

Selecting the correct material depends entirely on your structural engineer's specifications. Generally, reinforcing mesh is classified by its A, B, or C style (e.g. A142 or A393), which denotes the wire thickness and grid spacing. For vertical structures or heavy beams, individual rebar lengths are used. Always check product specifications to ensure you are selecting the specific diameter and grade required for your requirements.

 

Before you order

Before completing your purchase, consider the logistics of the site. Steel mesh sheets are large (typically 3.6m x 2m) and require significant space for storage and manoeuvring.

Additionally, don’t forget essential accessories such as reinforcement spacers to ensure the steel is raised to the correct depth within the concrete pour; steel that sits on the floor of the trench will not provide the necessary reinforcement.
