Tis is an expensive form of loft insulation but is easier to handle than the rolls.

Definitely
I chose to buy slabs rather than a roll of insulation as the first layer of loft insulation placed between the joists because the joists were 30 cm apart and this roll was 60 cm wide. I just divided each bale down the middle. Also it is easier to get the slabs into position under the eaves than with a roll which is too thick to get close to the edge and rolls, which all seem to be pre-divided, tend to come apart when you try to manoeuvre them into position. I also have the impression that there was less glass dust using this product but this may be because it took more time to install than the rolls I used for a top layer and needed less manipulation to get them into place. Quite a bit more expensive than rolls (twice the price) but I would use them again for the first layer placed between joists. I can say with confidence that preparing and insulation the insulation in the loft is THE most hated DIY jobs I have ever done! I hope I never have to enter the loft ever again!

Easy to fit, very effective, insulation
I am using this product throughout my 1960s home to ensure maximum insulation. It might not be the cheapest, but it is certainly the easiest to work with and offers very effective insulation. I will be reordering as and when required.

Should have bought 50mm, have to split or swop now?
I am going to try splitting these boards to cover twice the area at 50mm. It is for a beach hut so standards do not apply. All seems in order.
