In line with British Standards, the standard brick dimensions in the UK are 215mm long x 102.5mm wide x 65mm high (with all dimensions listed by Length x Width x Height).
As you will see from browsing through our range of bricks, there is plenty more than just standard bricks available when you are starting out with a construction project.
This table will help you to quickly and easily understand how the size of a brick alters across different types:
By this point, you should be well on your way to being able to accurately calculate how many bricks you need for your next project.
However, be sure to also factor in that 10mm of mortar is the standard thickness required on each edge of a brick when these materials are being laid.
To put this into context, you should technically be looking at 225 x 112.5 x 75mm for the space needed for each standard brick that is laid onto a structure.
You should now have all the information required for understanding UK brick dimensions and sizes. Be sure to read our types of bricks guide as well though, to ensure the correct material is always selected no matter the construction project you are working on.
